Kahramanmaraş Earthquake Relief

On the morning of February 6, 2023, Türkiye was shaken by a 7.7 magnitude earthquake centered in the Pazarcık district of Kahramanmaraş. Before the pain of the first earthquake could subside, a second earthquake with a magnitude of 7.6 centered in Elbistan struck around noon. The earthquakes, which also caused severe destruction in surrounding provinces and Syria, directly affected the lives of millions of people. Following this great disaster, in which thousands of our citizens lost their lives and tens of thousands were injured, a nationwide relief effort was launched across our country. Numerous earthquake survivors whose homes were destroyed or severely damaged struggled to meet their basic needs, including shelter, food, and heating. As ISAR, we immediately mobilized our resources following the earthquake to stand by our brothers and sisters affected by the disaster. By delivering emergency relief supplies prepared with the support of our donors to the earthquake region, we strived to heal the wounds of our citizens impacted by the catastrophe to some extent. The spirit of solidarity, brotherhood, and mutual aid displayed by our nation during these difficult days brought hope to us all. The helping hands extended from different regions of the world demonstrated once again that this grief is a shared human concern that transcends borders. We express our gratitude to all our donors who did not withhold their support from the very first moment of the earthquake, contributed to our relief efforts with their donations, and stood by the disaster victims. Every aid item we delivered together became a message of hope and strong solidarity, reassuring families struggling under harsh conditions that they are not alone. We pray for Allah's mercy upon our citizens who lost their lives in the earthquake, patience for their loved ones, and a speedy recovery for the injured. We pray to our Lord to protect our country and all humanity from such great disasters. Let us remember; joy increases when shared, and sorrow diminishes when shared. Get well soon, my Türkiye.
